ZMF BOKEH - Natural Black Limba

*********** AVAILABLE FOR DEMO ********* ZMF BOKEH is a new closed headphone from ZMF. The ZMF BOKEH is very much a full-sized headphone, with a slightly more comfortable form factor to "carry with you". Easier to drive for a portable amp (it's relatively more sensitive), but it still scales with better/more powerful amps. The idea is that ZMF will also produce a microphone cable for ZMF BOKEH to make it even more useful as an alternative in e.g. an office environment. Currently, the stock wood for the BOKEH is Natural Black Limba. Black Limba has streaks, resin marks, ink lines, dark and light spots, and highly varying color and figure. Limba may also contain ambrosia markings, filled bore holes, and other natural characteristics that we will fill or modify to looks its best. ZMF can't guarantee particular aesthetics, but have shown numerous sets of wood and will build every headphone to their high standards. "The ZMF Headphones BOKEH is a spacious ‘fun sounding’ set of dynamic driver headphones with plenty of that ‘ZMF flavor’ thrown in to create a highly tweakable but always very enjoyable tonal quality to its performance. It is not the most detailed or accurate set of high-end headphones, but if it’s a daily carry I am not 100% sure that matters as much. From my experience you want your music to resonate and quite often a little exaggeration does that quite well. What it also does well in is the looks department but then again, it’s a ZMF Headphone, which should come as no surprise. The Black Limba is now natural wood rather than my Claret Red but it still looks striking, sits comfortably, and provides a decent level of isolation. These are ZMF’s most accessible headphones I have reviewed to date. Not just in terms of price but in also what it plays well from.
