Musician Audio Pegasus II R2R DAC
The Musician Audio Pegasus II R2R DAC is a really accomplished and powerful DAC. It uses the R2R architecture. Integrating the best current technologies. The device is a best of breed using a low-noise power supply, a FIFO buffer, signal processing by FPGA and a FIR filter. It is therefore capable of decoding very high sample rates, up to 32bit PCM 1536kHz and DSD1024 via its USB and I2S inputs. The USB interface is handled by a STM32F446 MCU with Thesycon driver. The unit is encompassed in a massive Aluminium case.
The Musician Audio Pegasus R2R DAC includes most of the connections common to today's HiFi devices. We have inputs of USB-B, I2S via HDMI LVDS, AES/EBU, Toslink Optics and Coaxial.
On the output side, the device offers both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR, the latter output being obviously recommended to take advantage of the full potential of the device.
NB! It is not recommended to use the XLR and RCA outputs simultaneously, as these are shared.
I2S Pin Configuration of Pegasus
PS: There is no industry standard of I2S connection. Different brand/product has different I2S line order.
MUSICIAN Pegasus is trying to compatable with most of device by the following mode setting method if you are using standard HDMI cable:
1. Select the sound source input to I2S;
2. Press and hold the NOS button for 3 seconds until the I2S light flashes;
3. Press the NOS button during the flashing process to cycle through the phase modes (there are total 8 modes, 1X, 2X, 4X indicator lights are binary mode Display);
4. Stop the operation when you selected the satisfied sound, the machine automatically exits the mode setting function.
Through the below I2S settings, Pegasus can basically meet most of the brands on the market.

If it can not playing properly(such as hiss sound) by the above setting. This shall not be considered as a defective product, but just a matching failed. The suggested solution is to use a customized HDMI cable (The pin layout is as above).
Pegasus has it's own upscaling function in the internal,
which supports up to 16 times.
