The preamplifier section has a 128-step volume control with relays, so that a precise L / R balance and extremely high signal quality are guaranteed. The signal-to-noise ratio (S / N) is extremely high, while the distortion is decreasingly low. Remote control is included. The built-in DAC is a Sabre ES9026 PRO chip. The power supply for the DAC has 3 separate circuits to minimize any interference between the digital and analog circuits, which can result in a harsh sound. It handles all current formats from 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (Red Book standard) to 32 bit / 384 kHz. The S3 has the typical inputs: coaxial, optical and USB. The headphone amplifier is also really good. It has enough power to drive any headphones with ease - low or high impedance, whether sensitive or power hungry. It has a balanced XLR headphone output.
