Featuring a newly developed driver, updated research-based tuning, and Dan Clark Audio’s renowned comfort, the ÆON CORE offers an impressive combination of resolution, musicality, and precision. The new planar-magnetic driver was developed with a focus on high efficiency, low distortion, and consistent performance across units. With a sensitivity of approximately 94–97 dB/mW and an impedance of 17 ohms, the ÆON CORE is significantly easier to drive than many other planar headphones, performing excellently with both portable DAC/amps and high-end desktop headphone amplifiers. The ÆON CORE is the first headphone from Dan Clark Audio to utilize the company’s refined Harman Over-Ear target curve, developed in collaboration with Dr. Sean Olive. The result is a balanced, natural sound with a slightly fuller midrange, controlled bass, and a smoother upper midrange. Vocals are rendered with a sense of presence and naturalism, while instruments gain both body and texture. The closed-back design provides a focused listening experience with excellent isolation, yet the ÆON CORE delivers a surprisingly open and spacious soundstage for a closed-back headphone. Like other ÆON models, the ÆON CORE combines advanced materials with Dan Clark Audio’s signature ergonomics. It features a lightweight yet robust aluminum chassis, wood accents, a titanium headband, and a self-adjusting suspension strap that ensures a secure and comfortable fit.
